Fife boasts a long tradition of brewing and distilling and there has been a significant renaissance in recent years. As well as the large Diageo distillery and bottle plant Fife is blessed with a great number of craft distillers and breweries.

Tayport Distillery, Tayport

Scotland’s smallest distillery; Tayport Distillery produces award winning spirits using locally sourced botanicals, fruit and grain. Expertly crafted grain to glass Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs. Distillery Tours are available.

Kingsbarns Distillery, Kingsbarns

Whisky and Gin distlerry created by the Wemyss family in the converted farm steading of East Newhall Farm near to Cambo House. The Kingsbarns Distillery centre offers whisky and gin tours, tastings and delicious local food served in their cafe.

Eden Mill – Distillery & Brewery, Guardbridge

Based on the site of a historic distillery on the banks of the River Eden; in 2012, Eden Mill resurrected this fine brewing and spirits tradition with our own take on Scottish craft brewing and distilling. Eden Mill were Scotland’s first single site brewery and distillery.

Lindores Abbey Distillery, Newburgh

The spiritual home of scotch whisky. Distilling was taking place at Lindores Abby at least as early as 1494, as records show that King James IV commissioned for 8 bolls of malt to be turned into into Aqua Vitae. Since 2017, spirit started flowing once again from copper stills at Lindores Abbey Distillery, and the first single malt whisky was released. Distillery Tours and cafe are available.

Lundin Gin 

Award winning handcrafted Gin and Rum from Fife. Lundin Distilling supply to many of the local bottle shops or can be brought at the local farmer’s markets.

St Andrews Brewing

Founded in 2012, over 100 years since the last St Andrews brewery closed down. They have a core range of beers, with specials and seasonal beers available. They also produced a St Andrew’s Gin. St Andrews Brewing Tours are available as is beer and food at: the brewery, South Street St Andrew’s and the Caird Hall Dundee. 


An organic brewery, taproom, bottle shop and music venue tucked away on the East Neuk coastline. Futtle make farmhouse, foraged and wild beers that follow the seasons. If you like unusual beers this is the place for you.
