Both Welcome to Fife and Visit Scotland describes the Ceres ‘the most attractive village in Scotland’ and it’s clear to see why with its unique village layout and attractive pantile cottages around a central green.
The Tour Scotland website has a fantastic history of Ceres and the surrounding area which is worth a read.
Ceres is also on the Fife Pilgrim Way, a new 64 mile route from Culross or North Queensferry in the west to St Andrews in the north east, taking in spectacular views along the way.
Ceres Highland Games
The annual Highland Games held on Bow Butts on the last weekend in June, is said to be the oldest free games in Scotland, celebrating the return of local men from the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
